Gluten-free and weight loss (the truth)

I hope you’re well. I just wanted to send you a quick email to shed some light on the ‘gluten free’ hype.

I have so many conversations with clients about their diet and it usually goes like this;

ME: So, how’s your diet?

CLIENT/FOLLOWER: Yeah… good. I eat pretty healthily.

ME: Ok awesome! Talk me through the types of ‘healthy foods’ you eat.

CLIENT/FOLLOWER: Oh, well… I have gluten-free everything which is really healthy!

ME: Oh right, so are you gluten intolerant then?

CLIENT/FOLLOWER: Erm… no, don’t think so.

ME: No need to have gluten-free food then.

Gluten-free foods are ONLY needed for people who have gluten intolerances. Symptoms are extreme bloating, stomach cramps, constipation etc. There’s also Coeliac disease, which is a lot more severe and it’s imperative¬†that patients have a strict no gluten diet.

If none of this applies to you when eating foods containing gluten, it is not necessary or healthier to cut out gluten, in fact, quite the opposite.

Remember, fake news travels 6 times faster than correct news (or is that just fake news?)
