How to lose weight and stay in shape. The Surrey Personal Trainer.

Hey, Ben here. Today I’m going to teach you how to lose weight and stay in shape the Surrey Personal Trainer way!

I was having a delicious fruit shake this morning and answering some DM’s.

When one 1 question kept popping up…

“Ben, how can I stay in good shape year-round with a few basic principles, I don’t have time to go to the gym 5 times a week because of work and family?”

Excellent question, if I say so myself 🙂

Well, I’m here for the BC fitness family, let’s get right into it…

A simple yet neglected tip is to move every day…

Take the stairs…

Do a 7-minute workout…

Walk the dog…

Jog to the lamp post…

Look at how much extra exercise you’re getting by making a few simple changes…

I also recommend doing some resistance/bodyweight type workout at least 3 times a week.

And if you don’t have access to the gym or equipment, you can always check out my Insta for some workouts.

And tip numero dos is the 80/20 principle…

Allow me to explain…

80% of your results come from 20% of the work…

Imagine doing bicep curls for 10 minutes vs doing burpees for 10 minutes…

They’re both great exercises…

But if you have little time…

Every second counts…

You would be much better off doing 10 minutes of burpees to get a full-body workout and burn calories rather than doing an isolation exercise…

This principle is how I do everything in the gym and in my life.

I remove the fluff and only do the things that maximize my results…

And there we have it, ladies and gents…

My top 2 tips for feeling good and staying in shape year-round…

Even if you have little time, no workout equipment, and little energy…

Anyone can start doing these but you have to start…

Show up every day, even if it means doing a 5-minute workout to get into the habit of exercising…

As always if you need any help or guidance, I’m always a message away…

Anyways, I better go shred a few shapes on my board before the sun goes down.

Until next time

Ben x
